Reflections on a Monday Morning

The SuperBowl was kinda blah. The commercials were kinda meh. The best thing about the half-time show was the set and Cee-Lo's sequined Crypt Keeper outfit during Like a Prayer.

This weekend the weather went from 82 to 32 and landed everywhere in between. Boo. BougieMom and I spent the SuperBowl huddled up on the couch with Kleenex. This morning, I pop open my email to see some troll ran through BnB just to call me b*tches and hoes. *DELETE*

All that being said, you're on your own today. How was your weekend? What did you think of the big game (if you watched) and what's in store for you this week?

I ain't watch the game 'cuz I had no dog in that fight. The BEST thing about yesterday is that my Godson was born! I'm so excited to go meet him. No super big plans for this week. Life is a lil vanilla right now. :-/

Morning Chele!!!

Superbowl was whatever, half time show had nice digital effects and it was pretty cool to see 50+ Madonna still doing her thing, other than that it was all just a social event for me. The weather did pretty much the same down here! Hope you and Dude and BougieMom are feeling better.

As for the troll, don't sweat the small stuff! But you know you should have sent out a quick BougieAlert so we could get a little bit just before you deleted her! *snickers*

My focus for the week: Being a good steward of God's blessings, the mother of a teenager and the founder of a non-profit. Oh and get some work done for my employer somewhere in between.

My weekend was uneventfu,l which I loved.  Didn't really watch the Super Bowl because I didn't care who won.  Halftime show was big, bright and loud.  Lil'Me enjoyed watching it though.

Am I the ONLY Giants fan on here??

Yes I believe the game was awesome! Jay Z predicted this weeks ago. Now you know what Blue Ivey really stands for (Giants by 4) LOL!

Halftime - really meh to me.  I wonder how many halftimes those that claim Madonna was so great have actually watched? I mean Prince, U2, Bruce Springstein, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder/Gloria Estefan are among my tops and that doesn't even include boobgate with Janet or Rolling Stones. Point is there are a LOT of shows that Madonna's does not even come close to. I felt like I was watching a bad variety show. I was disappointed - she had a strong Strange entrance but after Vogue the act just flopped. Other artists have done shows with all "classic" songs so it was puzzling to me the songs that she chose. You Madonna dang it - you don't need Minaj or any other distractions on that stage.

Anywho, finally getting over my month and a half sinus infections from hades. Just in time for a Super Bowl Parade tomorrow.

Weekend was great, went to fab superbowl party. To me the game picked up the last 5 minutes. I'm going to need networks to do better, I missed some plays- they went to commercial and the next thing I see i Giants has 2 points on the board.  I was rooting for#TeamCruz though.  Madonna performace  was ok, nothing to rave about it.

Sorry about the troll; people do not know how to act these days. Le Sigh!

Feel better!

I was sort of rooting for the giants so I am glad they won!  I am a huge Madonna fan and expected her to bring it more than she did.  I think she was trying to hard to appeal to a younger audience (e.g., Nikki Minaj), it didn't work for me.  At 50+, she can still move!  I did enjoy two commercials - the Volkswagen one with the dog losing weight and the Doritos one with grandma and the little baby.  Too funny!

Congratulations!

I remember that Prince halftime show and it rocked!  I feel like you did in that Madonna didn't need no distractions, she has already made it! Anyway, I guess she has forgotten who she is.

Congrats! I know the feeling as I am a new auntie and can't wait to see my little niece!

Why thank you.  Lil'Me said it was past time.

I agree with you about the better shows. Especially Prince, awesomeness!!! The best thing about Madonna's show to me was the fact that she's over 50 and still dancing the way she was.

I missed it! Damn damn damn!!!

"This morning, I pop open my email to see some troll ran through BnB just to call me b*tches and hoes." Okay, someone was feeling extremely bored.

Rest up, and get well soon!

It was a little blah.  Kept switching back and forth.  The good news is, I won the Football pool at work! Madonna will always have a little piece of my heart, but it is time for her to either  put up the dancing shoes, or own it.  She does not need the flavors of the month to keep the crowd interested.  Insecure much, Madge?
