I'm heading to Cali over the weekend to hang out with fam. Then I'm interviewing at a media company on Monday for a new job. Riley wants back in Cali. Snow iz on some ole shiggity.

I'm part of a planning committee for a Natural Hair expo this weekend called Nappiology, it's tomorrow (Saturday). So if you are in the Dallas area come on out! THEN I fly to NYC on Sunday to spend some time with moms :) **whew**

Hi this is "KC" I wrote into Chele about my boyfriend who was starting to scare me. The day I wrote, Chele sent me some info and I met with a counselor that day and left the next day. I'm so blessed, my job is allowing me to transfer to a location 40 miles away which is still close to my friends and family but allows me to start over. I did have to get a restraining order, change banks and get some identity protection because he did not take the break up well. But I'm safe and working with a therapist. Thanks everybody for your great advice and concern. I'll check in occasionally and keep in touch.
Hola, bougie people! I should be cleaning for my houseguest this weekend, but I just fired up the computer to entertain myself! After I finish cleaning (which will hopefully be NLT 2), I plan to go to the store before I go to my (PT) job tonight. (UGH!) But the great news is that I get to meet OneChele tonight! Woo-hoo! To say I'm excited is an understatement (ok, get out of fan mode). Tomorrow I'm participating in my first 5K (YIKES!) I can't help but to think that once, or if, pictures of his "alleged" harassment victims are made public, those dyed in the wool (redneck underneath the collar) Republicans may rethink their stance on him. Especially if they're a group of women of the lighter persuasion.

I had to do something medical this a.m. and as I was about to stroll my happy behind out of the doc's office I find out that my insurance only cover this test at 50% so I had to pony up my half, which was $520. Now, I had it and I paid it, but I wasn't expecting to spend $500+ today at the doc's office, you know? Thank goodness for flexible spending accounts.
Spending the day doing exciting things like surplus/deficit estimates and budget preparation!
But really mentally planning for next weekend when I get to work in my passion field: makeup artistry. Found out I'll be assisting Eve Pearl at IMATS Toronto. Can't wait!

Anyway, as taxing as this week has been, it's also been a reminder that going to design school was definitely a good choice. I saw a documentary on a young designer last night, and while it scared me silly, it also inspired the hell out of me. I met the guy too. Super cool. Very encouraging. (Project Petite Pants for SingLikeSassy will probably start next term. I ain't forget you, girl.)
I think I'm going to take the weekend to paint and work on some Christmas card illustrations. Oh, and to clean the house... doing three midterm projects in four days has left my space looking a fright. Eep.
Finishing up last minute details for hosting a ladies brunch tomorrow (at my house...what was I thinking?!) Spending today in training and trying to keep from zoning out. Looking forward to girl time this weekend but also kicking myself for over doing it again. Going to need some spa sessions soon.
An aside: LOVE being part of BL...this place is greatness and the highlight of my days (sans the projectile coffee/hot tea from all the guffawing and gasping I do while reading).

Just woke up. Went to the Jay Z/Kanye West "Watch The Throne" concert at the Verizon Center last night. It was the absolute best concert stage production I've ever attended (been to easily over 200 shows). DC women represented in all their ratchet glory-five inch heels and LBD for a hip hop show, really ? But the audience was awesomely diverse, old, young, black, white, other...everybody had a ball. Now searching the internets to try and catch it again..somewhere in these United States.
Anyway, I now have to figure out how to get past this hangover in 4 1/2 hrs before I head out to the the Bnb DC meet at www.LosTiosGrill.com for those big azz margaritas they serve there.. Hmmm...
I took off today because I lost my voice, so I'm going to the doctor this afternoon. 10 weeks of school have passed already, and this is my first day off! I need to start drafting a note to parents about "reviewing" good hygiene with their children. I love them, but not their boogers.
It's still relatively nice weather out here, so I'm planning to go to the zoo on Sunday. And I bought a plane ticket home for Thanksgiving, but it's a surprise for the fam. :-)
I'm representing the law school at a National Moot court competition this weekend. eeeek pray for me!!! So that's the focus today. Chilling in a hotel room, going over arguments and case facts. Planning on going out tonight and celebrating a win (hopefully) on the school's dime.

Traditional with salt on the rim. Tomorrow is wig wash day, choir rehearsal for Christmas festival, and then church. Singing in the choir Saturday eve and Sunday morn. We are hitting our slow season at work, so I have BS-ed on Twitter and edited some flagrant grammar errors in a blog post I put up yesterday, and watched Up All Night online. (Maya Rudolph is hilarious.) This weekend I have planned nothing. Which is unlike me. But outside of homecoming 2 weeks ago, this is the first weekend I haven’t had to work in MONTHS. So, I’m gonna catch up on my DVR. I’m gonna go to the gym. I am gonna sneak behind my back and go peak at the Nordstrom half yearly sale. And I am gonna cook. A LOT. Y'all be good this weekend, or at least don't take pics!

Tell me why it's one in the afternoon and I'm JUST now waking up. Oh, I know why... because I just survived my first round of design school midterms, and my body is now protesting. #OccupyPillow
Anyway, as taxing as this week has been, it's also been a reminder that going to design school was definitely a good choice. I saw a documentary on a young designer last night, and while it scared me silly, it also inspired the hell out of me. I met the guy too. Super cool. Very encouraging. (Project Petite Pants for SingLikeSassy will probably start next term. I ain't forget you, girl.)
I think I'm going to take the weekend to paint and work on some Christmas card illustrations. Oh, and to clean the house... doing three midterm projects in four days has left my space looking a fright. Eep.

Finishing up last minute details for hosting a ladies brunch tomorrow (at my house...what was I thinking?!) Spending today in training and trying to keep from zoning out. Looking forward to girl time this weekend but also kicking myself for over doing it again. Going to need some spa sessions soon.
An aside: LOVE being part of BL...this place is greatness and the highlight of my days (sans the projectile coffee/hot tea from all the guffawing and gasping I do while reading).

Just woke up. Went to the Jay Z/Kanye West "Watch The Throne" concert at the Verizon Center last night. It was the absolute best concert stage production I've ever attended (been to easily over 200 shows). DC women represented in all their ratchet glory-five inch heels and LBD for a hip hop show, really ? But the audience was awesomely diverse, old, young, black, white, other...everybody had a ball. Now searching the internets to try and catch it again..somewhere in these United States.
Anyway, I now have to figure out how to get past this hangover in 4 1/2 hrs before I head out to the the Bnb DC meet at www.LosTiosGrill.com for those big azz margaritas they serve there.. Hmmm...
I took off today because I lost my voice, so I'm going to the doctor this afternoon. 10 weeks of school have passed already, and this is my first day off! I need to start drafting a note to parents about "reviewing" good hygiene with their children. I love them, but not their boogers.
It's still relatively nice weather out here, so I'm planning to go to the zoo on Sunday. And I bought a plane ticket home for Thanksgiving, but it's a surprise for the fam. :-)
I took today because I went to the concert last night, an I'm going to meet with you all this evening..
I'm representing the law school at a National Moot court competition this weekend. eeeek pray for me!!! So that's the focus today. Chilling in a hotel room, going over arguments and case facts. Planning on going out tonight and celebrating a win (hopefully) on the school's dime.
Still in rehearsal for a performance. Need to be working on my new course for fall 2012. And destressing after it all with a ticket to Monday Night Football Bears at Eagles! I'mma be cold, but it'll be fun.

I've been house sitting for a friend all week. She has a 23 year old living with her temporarily and didn't want any overnight shenanigans going on while she's away enjoying her birthday spa trip. Since she's in the neighborhood, I was over there around 11/midnight every night. I don't baby sit grown folks. Tonight is margarita drankin' with the BnB ladies in the DMV. I loves me a good 'rita. Traditional with salt on the rim. Tomorrow is wig wash day, choir rehearsal for Christmas festival, and then church. Singing in the choir Saturday eve and Sunday morn. Then birthday brunch for said friend above. Busy weekend as usual. Singlelif, get sober, lady! We got dranks to drank!

I'm procrastinating on three different things at the same time. It's the ramp up to Christmas and I need to be fleshing out the offerings in my Zazzle store. I knew that. So why I let myself sign up for NaNoWriMo, I couldn't begin to say. Especially not when I've also got a marketing clinic happening. #NotEnoughHoursInTheDay #OverscheduledLikeWhoa. Although ... now that I have typed this, I see very clearly what priority they fall in, at least. *Fires up the fractal software.*

Just a few minutes ago, I started to shut down my computer and leave work… despite the fact that I am supposed to be here about another 45 minutes. Smh. Lol Today I have accomplished nothing. We are hitting our slow season at work, so I have BS-ed on Twitter and edited some flagrant grammar errors in a blog post I put up yesterday, and watched Up All Night online. (Maya Rudolph is hilarious.) This weekend I have planned nothing. Which is unlike me. But outside of homecoming 2 weeks ago, this is the first weekend I haven’t had to work in MONTHS. So, I’m gonna catch up on my DVR. I’m gonna go to the gym. I am gonna sneak behind my back and go peak at the Nordstrom half yearly sale. And I am gonna cook. A LOT.
