New and improved... sort of

Apparently what's hot in the streetz is for Blogger and WordPress to unleash all flavas of hell on folks who want to switch from one to the other. In the midst of my exodus from Blogger, some drama over ownership of my dedicated BlacknBougie.com domain name cropped up. I pay for the thing every year so it's mine. It should go where I go, right? That's still under debate. I could buy a new domain name and point BnB'ers to it but don't you know someone owns and uses BougieLand.com?

That being said, we're still here for now. We are optimized for mobile. If you go to www.BlacknBougie.com on your smart phones, it (finally) detects mobile and acts accordingly. Disqus has been upgraded as well. It will work on Android and iPhones, BlackBerry not so much. Not sure sure if this solves the social media lockdown some of you were experiencing in the workplace though.

I've stripped most of the bells and whistles off the site to make it quick to load and as drama-free as possible. No funky fonts, no twirling banners. Enjoy the shiny newness.

I know a lot people move from blogger to wordpress.  I haven't . . . yet.  Why did you decide to do it ?  Just wondering as I consider.

So Bougieland.com is actually a French candle and home goods market??  Who knew?!  lol

There's much more freedom and customization on Wordpress than on Blogger. Also most of the best plugins and templates are designed for Wordpress and when you try to adapt them for Blogger they end up watered down. It was a harrowing experience but I have no regrets at all.

I literally just added you to my blog reader an hour ago then saw that you were moving LOL! I'm moving from TP to WP as we speak but I hired someone 'cause I cannot be bothered.

Since I woke up after 2:00 PM EDT, I only missed BNB by a few hours. Don't know if I could have stood it all day, so I'm glad we got a post.

Good luck on the migration; it will be great to have you as a WP neighbor! I've promised myself that I'll deliver two blog posts this week and perhaps share my blog with more than two or three people, so...we'll see ;)

I'm moving my blog very soon. If I'm paying for hosting I might as well do something with it.

Love the mobile optimization, I visit from my phone pretty often and it was a little annoying.
