Step yo' game up - Don't kill your own game
Let's start out by talking about game. What is it, do you have it, if you've lost it - how to get it back? Wow, that's a lot and I can't just give away the secret sauce. Let's do this instead...

Definition: Game is quite simply, how you play to win. At life, at jobs, at love, at lust... the ability to skillfully maneuver your way to where you want to be... is game.
How do you get it? Like any skill you can be born with it or you can learn it. Some learn it well, others just don't get it. Some learn it, have it and then kill it dead. And that's the worst. There is nothing quite as tragic as seeing someone who was once on their game and fell off. Way off. It happens. And when it does, there's always a gamekiller in the mix. That one thing you did to turn a FTW to a FML.
Take for instance, the case of "Daria" - up and coming director at a large telecom company. Daria was on the fast track, heading for a Vice-Presidency, if not for that unfortunate habit of attending company functions, getting plastered and sleeping with men that were not her husband (who also worked at the company). Daria's gamekiller was lack of professionalism (to put it nicely).
Take for instance, the case of "Mark" - wannabe ladies' man. He had the looks, the bankroll, the address and the trappings. Unfortunately he knew it and could not resist telling everybody, all the time what a great damn catch he was. This ninja would buy a woman a drink and make sure to tell the bartender (loudly) to run a tab on his AmEx platinum card. Before you could compliment him, he would tell you how he was constantly being approached by modeling agencies but he didn't want to walk away from his six-figure job for that. Mark's gamekiller was narcissism.
Just for kicks, here are a few polls to see what you think are the worst gamekillers out there.

Personally, I think the not giving a damn ruins all sort of game, but I'll let you all weigh in on that. BougieLand, what say you? What kills game with the swiftness? Do you know folks who consistently wreck their own game but don't even recognize it? Do share...

What about just being terrible - in a relationship and at work? Some people just suck (and not in a good way).
Where does Daria work? That's what I call a team player.
Someone used to call that the fade to black.
"Mark" needs to learn to speak less. Go strong/silent. If he has the rest of the package, don't ruin it by talking. Some cute women could learn this trick too. Just sit and be pretty.
Um - yes and no Paul. Yes, Mark needs to say less. No to just sit and be pretty. There are blow-up dolls for that.
Paul - just sit and be pretty? Really? Sounds to me like you would rather date a glorified ventriloquist dummy.
"Bark like a dog."
"woof. woof. woof."
"Bark like a big dog."
"WOOF. WOOF. WOOF."
Ouch. I might have phrased that incorrectly?
Not better. Really not.
Bless his heart.
So do stupid people, regardless of looks. Le Boo, Paul, Le Boo.
also, wouldn't bragging about your AmEX platinum (i.e. CREDIT) card inspire thoughts about how prudent the person really is? Who wants to date someone that's blowing money all over the place other than a groupie.
I thought the same thing too. Not giving a damn is a game killer.

You are right, bro. In this economy, I don't think the flashing of a credit card is any sort of enticement. Flash a 401(k) statement - that tells me something.
I sense a blog post here.
LOL at "flash a 401(k)"!
So uh... he's history right?
Some other answers received - Relationship gamekillers: Too much talking, not enough listening.
Not enough sex.
Not enough talking
Outside interference.
Work gamekillers:
Not showing up
Terrible management
I know "Mark" - five Marks actually. He can catch but he can't keep.
Like Michele said too much talking is a relationship killer. When my Grandmom was alive, she always said you have two ears and one mouth; therefore listen twice as much as you talk. Also, talking incessantly about your baby's father and how "men aren't ish" on the first date.
Work gamekillers: bringing your entire personal life to work.
If I had a dollar for every time someone "overshared" in the workplace... well, I wouldn't need to work!
Apathy and/or losing interest (failing to sustain interest) is the worst. The gradual erosion of feeling and caring - terrible feeling.
I agree. Work gamekiller is not showing up. This lady I work with is always gone handling her publicized job. In her industry, no one knows she has a 9 - 5.
I know that one big game killer in relationships is dragging the mistakes from the past into the new. Nothing worse than hearing "When I was with So and So he/she used to (insert bad habit here)." It's one thing to have that one cleansing convo with the new person, but let it all go after that. Base your new relationship on new things. Baggage can suck the life out of both of you.
At work, a huge game killer is getting caught in a lie. Whether you fib about experience, or lie about how much of a project you have completed, getting caught ruins your reputation and your standing everywhere. And if you can't be trusted, you will be the first to go if they need to get to chopping...
As Chele would say - Le Sigh. I meant sometimes pretty people lose points by opening their mouths and spoiling the illusion.
Not to defend Paul's statement but if your game is your looks and you have nothing else to back it up, play to your strength. Sad but true.
Is that bougie for STFU?
Yep, the slow fade. Worst thing ever.
I just had a dude call me by the wrong name at "that moment" and then told me I shouldn't be mad because he didn't mean it. O__o
Why yes, it is ;-)
Bob and weave bro, bob and weave!
I think anytime you run game for the express purpose of just running game, it's a fail. You've already lost before you start.
I think dishonesty kills both (work and personal) quicker than anything else.
Actions speak louder than words ... #thatisall
I vote we knock Daria and Mark's heads together and call it a night.
