What do Elin Nordegren, Glenn Beck and Fantasia have in common?

Answer: They all need to go somewhere and sit quietly. Like right now.

1. Elin former Woods now Nordegren: Ma'am - what happened to wanting privacy and not wanting to put anything negative out there that your kids would read later? What happened to that? We get it, you were a victim. Tiger done did you wrong. Now take your money and go sit down. [that sound you hear is me gritting my teeth against what I truly want to say but won't because I was raised well]

2. Glenn Beck: I'm sorry, do I hear this correctly? You are "taking back" MLK's legacy and "restoring honor" to the dream? And it just so happens to be on the anniversary of the "I have a dream speech"? Now matter well I was raised, I have to say this: Sir, you need your ass kicked. Repeatedly. [that sound you hear is MLK flip-flopping in his grave and shouting down from heaven, "I died for THIS? What part of the dream is this shiggity?" Yes, he said shiggity]

3. Fantasia: Baby girl, no. Whoever is pimping handling you is doing you wrong. You do not need to be all over the TV and airwaves talking about your woes. You need to relax, relate, release and refuel. Stop letting them make you the victim. Please take your life back and get some help. I'm begging you. [that sound you hear is me paging Oprah or Dr. Phil or somebody to intervene on this girl's behalf]

Okay, I'm better now. Thoughts on my thoughts? Got anybody else you would like to sit on down for a minute? Do share.

My thoughts?
1) I'm still trying to figure out why Elin's interview with (I think it was) People's magazine took 19 hours! *scratching my head*
2) Glenn Beck - Really? *giving him the finger (oops I mean hand)*
3) As for Fantasia, intervention is definitely needed. Not going to judge her, she is simply a product of the environment in which she grew up (and is still surrounded by). I saw one of her reality shows and couldn't watch anymore. Classic example of someone who should have ran from her folks when she made it big. I'm just sayin...*saying a prayer for Tasia*

The way your minds works! I honestly couldn't figure out what they had in common. But I do see your point. Of the three, I feel badly for Fantasia.

I Am Me said...

1. Elin needs to recognize that no one cares. Her ex-husband is the celeb.
2. Beck does need his ass kicked
3. Tasia needs a time-out

She who was Mrs. Woods does not factor into my world.
Tasia is grown enough to take control of her life now.
Glenn on the other hand, knows exactly what he's doing and the defiling of MLK's legacy is completely abhorrent. He has no effin' shame and is going to have to learn the hard way. He might want to watch out for those DMV boys, they don't play like that.

1. Elin- Why now? What about when it went down? That's when it was news. 2. Beck- whatever, man! 3. Fantasia- You dead wrong! Stop talking! Think of your daughter! Also, Mrs. Cook's lawyer is a beast! She was my divorce attorney. My ex husband co signs!

Myas-mom said...

"My ex husband co signs!"...I'm dead, and you are about to be brought on a 1st degree murder charge! LMAO!!!

I'm only interested in Elin if she was willing to admit she took a golf club upside Tiger's head.

Glen Beck is racist fear-mongerer who wants to make dollars.

Fantasia needs better PR and perhaps an education of some sort.

Glenn Beck is a shill. He has duped so many Americans into thinking he has the answers by standing in front of a chalkboard, spouting off wild, improbable theories, and acting like a first-class nut job. He is contributing to the dumbing down of America and I won't participate in it. As a matter of fact, look at someone like Jon Stewart from the Daily Show skewer this guy with his own words, and you will see.

Elin needs to stop the pity tour. I don't believe that for one second she grabbed a golf club to assist in getting her husband out of his car. Like Chele, I believe she should just take her money and go live her life. BTW, if anyone believes her story, including the part about how she was totally clueless, then I have a handful of magic beans and a pocketful of dreams for you...

Something about Fantasia's story does not ring true. Taking a jar of aspirin and climbing into a closet, so she could end it all? x_O I do not believe that at all. Then meeting with this guy in front of reality show cameras before appearing everywhere to promote her new album that is about - oh I don't know - love with another woman's man and the loss of that love. She needs to: 1) keep reading after the GED. Reading is fundamental and she might learn a little bit more; 2) pick her people better. Whoever woke up and thought that is was a great idea to to a whirlwind tour the day after a suicide attempt is short-bus special; 3) think about your kid. It is no longer about embarrassing you, and the "suicide attempt" in full view of cameras and paparazzi is not wise or smart.

BTW - I am on Team Mrs. Cook! She should sue, even if just for the principle of the whole thing. To paraphrase Big Worm in Friday, "It's principalities, Smokey!"

Why shouldn't Elin have a chance to speak after the dust has settled and she's had a chance to compose herself? So she changed her mind about talking or opening up about her side..I say good for her.

KG said...

Good for her that what exactly? She should take the money and RUN. I repeat, RUN. No one needs to hear anything more from either of them especially since there's nothing new. To quote Chele: "Tiger done did her wrong" and everyone knows that. She was the victim. We get it. What else is there to possibly say? And why build herself up as this patron saint of wronged trophy wives?

happinessisme said...

I disagree about Elin, she has always held herself in a classy and respectful light. Tiger was the one disrespecting and the reason her business was in the streets. For all we know media etc etc might have been hounding her, this might be a part of her healing process. Even now, people are attacking her, perhaps she really didnt know her husband was cheating on her? Men lie and the ability to cheat becomes way greater when your husband is making all the money and gone half the time. If she was a stay at home mother and wife I easily believe she might not have known. It makes more sense for her to talk now, after the divorce then a few months ago when they might have still be reconciling or in the divorce process.

Leon X said...

1. I'm pretty much with you here. While she was wronged, I'm sure the divorce settlement was a pretty nice cushion. Stay out of the public eye Ms. Nordegren and you'll be OK.

2. Glenn Beck holding an event on the day of the 47th anniversary of the March On Washington For Jobs And Freedom (Yes, I'm reclaiming the full name of the event.) doesn't bother me. Invoking Martin Luther King's name while claiming President Obama is a racist and has a deep-seated hatred of white people does. Then again, people said a lot of bad things about Martin Luther King during his time, didn't they?

3. I actually feel bad for Fantasia. Being a celebrity is a 24/7/365 job. There is no one to teach those people how to deal with being famous. When things go wrong they don't know how to react to it and sometimes they make bad choices as to how to deal with it.

Michele said...

I don't have a problem with Elin. Everyone and their Mama has had something to say about the Woods relationship and she kept her mouth shut. She never said a word. Why shouldn't she have an opportunity to have her say? Now that she's said it, I better not see her on Oprah, Larry King, Wendy Williams, The View and Regis and Kelly.

Myas-mom said...

Unless she's going to admit that she was trying to go upside Tiger's head with that golf club, she has nothing to say. The man backed up into a tree (or whatever it was), you want to get him out of the car, open the damn door! (Only the fender, and maybe trunk were damaged.)

So as long as she's trying to make herself look sooo good by not admitting to her violent act (which is understandable) in order to make Tiger look worse, she needs to "Go. Sit. Down.".

Myas-mom said...

Just want to add:

1) Just tell the truth Elin! If you really didn't know about ALL those women, when you found out, you grabbed that golf club and was about to commit a serious assault and battery! (I know I would have, my interview would have been from behind bars!)

2) They talked about Jesus, so I guess we shouldn't be too surprised. SMH

3) This is what she knows! And she's still surrounded by trifling people so of course she's going to act this way when things go wrong. I feel bad for her too.

all of them have problems. maybe if we ignore them they will go away.

MWD said...

Because the message needs to be sent that cheating is wrong, wrong, wrong. Elin has two daughters that deserve to see their mother be strong and come out of this controversy on top. While her methods may not be the best, she could certainly do a lot worse..read Fantasia. The money is not going to be taken away from her and she will breeze through her 30 minutes of fame.
Besides, why shouldn't Tiger be shamed for this...truthfully, I don't think he's all that repentant. And furthermore, shouldn't cheated upon trophy wives have a patron saint?

FreeBlackMan said...

They all need a time out.
It would be fine for Elin to have her 19 hour say IF she hadn't been SO adamant about NOT wanting to say anything and begging for privacy. I hate a flip-flopper. Either you want privacy or you want publicity. Take a page from Juanita Jordan's book - cash the checks and go on about your life.
Glenn Beck's implosion will come. I think he's good way too far on this one.
Tasia needs a good man, a hug and Jesus. I can help her out with two of those.

FreeBlackMan said...

Everybody gets that cheating is wrong. He said it, she said it, every member of the press said. Now let's let it die. How many times do you have to apologize? Whether he's truly repentant or not is between him and God.

All Honey said...

I can't with everybody all team Elin and team Mrs Whoever - we don't know what the hell went on with these folks, we're getting the pieces of the story the press picked apart that sounds best. Okay yea - cheating bad, monogamy good - understood. Beyond that everybody needs to fall back.
Look here, my ex cheated on me - am I giving interviews? Sit down.
I don't understand how you in the hospital for a suicide attempt and three days later on a press tour. No ma'am.
And eff a Glenn Beck.

David Chase said...

The problem with the 24/7/365 news cycle is that people that you may have had sympathy or empathy for as just put on spin cycle all day so you cease to give a damn. I say that in reference to Elin and Fantasia.
Beck is on his hustle. What's the best way to get crazy ass white folks and pissed off black folks in the same place at the same time? Invoke a black hero. And get paid while doing it.

Myas-mom said...

Unfortunately, I doubt Elin would even understand Juanita's "book".

Elin vs. Juanita
1) Juanita rode to the top WITH her man, he didn't scoop her up out of the trenches.
2) Juanita was about the man, not the money.
3) Juanita helped in the "multiplication" of the money her man made (she was business savvy).

Glenn B - The countdown to his epic fall is coming. Just watch and wait.

Tasia was just not ready for all she got. She need a time out and a savings account.

On to Elin - Sorry ladies, there's not a single damn chance in hell she had no clue what her husband was up to. Don't bring the victim card here. Hell naw. K, maybe she didn't know he was hittin' every trailer Hooters ho cross country but you ain't married to a freak like that without catching a clue. Plus his game was weak. You could tell that from the text message he was sloppy with his. She knew, she stayed. Either for the love, the money or the kids but let's stop playing that game.

Like you said - they could all go sit down.

rozb said...

Well said Riley, well said.

Leon X said...

I'm sorry, but I gotta be "that guy."

Juanita Jordan initially filed a paternity suit against Michael Jordan. Before the suit was settled they were married in Las Vegas.

Myas-mom said...

"...every trailer Hooters ho cross country..." Why Riley, why? LMAO!!!

So true.

One thing that I hate about these types of forums is that we jump on the bandwagon of ridicule and forget the human element. These are people. The problems that they have are as real as yours, except its played out on television.

Think about how bad they feel if it were your sister or best friend going thru these things. You would be totally different. The other things that I don't like is how we are particular about who we shun. How come no one had very much negative to say about Alicia Keyes?

Nevermind...

GrownAzzMan said...

I can't argue with your choices her but no Go.Sit.Down. post is complete without a Sarah Palin mention. Multiple violations, pick one.

GrownAzzMan said...

What Riley said! "She knew, she stayed. Either for the love, the money or the kids but let's stop playing that game."

OneChele said...

I wouldn't want my sister or best friend to live their lives out in front of the camera either which was my point. I don't dispute they have issues. I'm disputing the wisdom of airing those issues out in a public forum. Plenty of people (here, other blogs, Twitter, facebook) have had their say about Alicia Keys. Again, no one is cheering infidelity.

Did anyone see that clip with Ms Wanda Sykes( Larry King) commenting on Elin? It was hilarious.
I like Fantasia a lot, I hope she uses this hiccup as a learning lesson. I urge her not to be afraid of examining her weakness b/c in them she will find her greatest potential.
Mr Becky where were you the last 8 years when the ship hit iceberg?

maureen palmer said...

There is a socialist who once said " for precocity some great price is always sooner or later in life", and this can be said for a lot of celebrities.

Gamma's been busy at work and not able to visit Bougieland as much as I'd like. Imma have to co-sign on Elin -- not sure why she wants her story out there now ... take the money and live (but I would like to hear her say yeah I took that golf club to his azz). She's been private during this whole mess - why reignite the fuse?

Glenn Beck - moving on.

I think Tasia got caught up in dude's yackety-yack but I don't *think* she deliberately went after a married man. With that said, Baby Girl, you're runnin with the big dogs now -- HIRE A DAMN STAFF to include a real PR Rep, Manager, Accountant, and Assistant, and Counselor to work through all that childhood dysfunction and next time you meet a "separated" dude, tell him to get back wit ya when the divorce is final.

GammasWorld said...

Lawd, how could we forget Mama Grizzly? I love how she's clinging to that "average American" label as she figures out how to manage that $11 million she took in last year.

Just_A_Thought1218 said...

And to be "that girl:

Michael Jordan was cheating on Juanita for years, flaunting his extramarital affairs all around Chicago, New York, Atlanta etc., while Juanita kept quiet so as not to blow his public image. She also kept mum about his gambling (when it was still secret anyway), and still has not put him on blast. No one put a gun to his head to make him marry her (without a prenup), or stay married to her when he was behaving like a single man.

Myas-mom said...

Thanks girl! My points are still valid Leon. Yours confirms why he married her. She was with him waaaay before the money rolled in.

Myas-mom said...

I understand what you're saying, however it's funny how some celebs know how to pay no never mind to what the media is reporting about their "private" issues, while some take advantage of the spotlight.

I feel bad for anybody when they go through trials and tribulations, especially when they're publicized. I don't feel bad when some of these same people exploit their situations for money and/or fame.

Alicia Keyes caught a lot of flack behind her situation, but I'm wondering if it didn't get blown more out of portion because she didn't speak much about it publicly. Hmmm....

Not really, he was getting paid quite a bit when they married. As a matter fact, here in Chicago many "Basketball Groupies" where trying to get with MJ. Juanita just happened to be the "fleetest of foot". It was well known here that someone was "Out to catch" this up and coming athelete. No, she did not flaunt her dirty laundry; she had enough friends that were happy to do that for her. (Check the sports pages from the Chicago Sun-Times and Tribune around that time, the speculation was rampant). The point is, Mrs. Jordan knew exactly what she was doing, MJ didn't stand a chance.

Elin. co-sign. Lookie here chick, you were the nanny. and then he married you. and then he did you wrong. we're y'all ever really love? doubtful. Were you just a nameless non black woman that tiger saw fit to put a ring on just because he thought marriage is what you do after you blaze trails and shatter records in the whitest sport EVER? yes. Did you just get buckets of money for your humiliation? yes. now shut your trap, and sit it down. moving on...

Glenn Beck. GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY. AND HE SURE HATES STUPID. you and your army of bigots and morons only have but so much time left to shit all over the nation's capitol. your days are numbered. and kick rocks. you and all of Fox "news".

Fantasia. I honestly don't even care about you, honestly. Seriously, if you can't see that you TRIED TO KILL YOURSELF isn't a massive cry for help that can't be answered by platinum record sales, you're not worth my time. Besides, you're ghetto-behind has been on my persona non grata list since the B-A-B-Y M-A-M-A fiasco. "It's too many black women that can say that they're mother's but can't say that they're wives."
