Random Thought – The Tea Party sucks

I don't want this post to come off all Palin (all rhetoric, no fact or intellect) but nor do I plan to give a dissertation on all that is wrong with the Tea Party… we could be here all year. But I am seriously starting to wonder if the Tea Party isn't turning into Klan Lite – all of the hatred, none of the hoods or hangings (yet). Who exactly is their leader? Is it just of bunch of angry Jim-Bobs and Bobbie Jean's that long nostalgically for the days of plantations and keeping darkies in their place? I don't know, I haven't done the research but what I do see looks like a trip to CrazyTown. Did I see someone really comparing the Tea Party to the New Black Panther Party? Is the revolution about to be televised?

Does it seem as though all the overtly crazy, racist "We Want Our Country Back" crap is starting to see the light of day and the "Regular" right wing is thinking now is a good time to back away? Let's be clear, there are conservative policies and values and then there's the fear and hate-mongering that the Tea Party is pushing (gleefully with poorly made and misspelled signs). Over at Rippa's spot, he talked about it. There was also a great theological and intellectual viewpoint over at The Watchman. The Negro Intellectual dropped serious knowledge in his open letter to Glenn Beck (I hate Beck, I really do). Jack & Jill Politics brought this video to my attention; it asks the question – What if the Tea Party were Black?

Now that's food for thought. I think the role of the moderate, progressive, liberal, or sane person is to fight widespread ignorance and hate with tolerance and knowledge. Point out misinformation on the regular and for God's sake, vote for some people who are about something real and substantive that won't set the country back to pre-Civil Rights Era. I don't know about ya'll but I'm appreciating my little freedom, I'd like to pursue my happiness from the front of the bus. Just sayin'.

Got thoughts on the Tea Party? Do share...

God, they really do suck. It's one thing to be dissatisfied with the status quo and another to go Nazi-style militant.

LOL - Tell us what you really think. That video is priceless.

I think the comparison between the Tea Party and New Black Panther Party are legit when (and only when) we ask "what if the Tea Party were black." We see how these folks want the DOJ to PROSECUTE the NBPP, but say nothing of the bullsh*t the TP spouts on the regular. NBPP isn't NEARLY as radical as MSM would have us think, but check how they treat them.

Aside from the racism, my other major issue with the Tea Party is I'm still waiting on a party platform that doesn't include a lot of hate. Or further, explains how they plan to accomplish their goals. They want to cut spending, but you ask them where and you can't get a majority to save your life. I mean, really, people? You wanna takeover, but have no idea what you will do with the power once you have it? #epicfail

This whole thing with the New Black Panther Party and the push pull of it all, I hope it doesn't come to arms in the street. My issue with the Tea Party is that they are not saying shit accept - Life ain't fair and we want to go back to the days where we ran thangs and ya'll just took it. Sucks to be you. Shoulda never gave us our freedom papers.

Okay!? It's like - say all of us "untrue" Americans fled the country and ceded control to the Palins and Joe Wilsons... then what? They have no clue. All rhetoric, no reason.

Okay, you had me at : I don't want this post to come off all Palin (all rhetoric, no fact or intellect). DEAD.

The video says it all for me. We already have the answer to what would happen if the Tea Party was Black. See the current Fox News hysteria over the "New" Black Panther party. All five of them.

I just read with Biden said that Tea Party is not a racist movement. Not all of them, no. But enough to make me uncomfortable. Is there an african american chapter? No? Okay then.

Game. Set. Match.

There is something kinda Klanish about the whole thing. Anytime armed white men are holding up hand-painted signs that aren't sports-related, I'm uncomfortable.

Um (smothering a snicker) do you meant "apparent"? Classic!

Sorry but 'eparent' made me laugh until I had tears streaming down my cheeks! FTW?

Dude! The minute I see signs, bandanas and Confed flags and there's not a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert nearby, I'm out like two year old light bulb.

Did ya'll see the letter the head of the Tea Party has put out in response to the NAACP 's request that they repudiate the really extreme members of the tea party? The letter has since been taken down but to think that he would even really thing it is a "satire" in anyway shape or form

Aw man, damn. What's to understand? It's not that complicated. You mad, huh?

Exactly my point, and waiting to see when NBPP will sway election one way or the other. The irony part of it is, fox have had NBPP members on their show 51 times. I smell hidden agenda, glad most of us are above that bullshiggity!

"Take my country back" from whom and where were they when tax cuts led to deficit?

I interviewed a member of the Tea Party on my blog. Very rational guy. And at the end of the conversation no one got shot. I realized after that convo what I have been thinking about for awhile. This is about special intrest groups and organizations that have clout. Why? Because they have voting numbers. Progressive black folks need an "organized" special intrest group that used political moves (voting and the threat to withhold votes) to obtain their goals. Progressive blacks can get together and carry guns and do whatever else they want but that's not what concerns politicians in the fall. Any dude can carry a gun around, they do it in the hood all the time. All that is for show and to get an interview on Fox News. The M-16 is not going to cast a vote. The person carrying the gun will. This is about who has political power. The Tea Party is doing their job. Why aren't the people who oppose them doing theirs?

People mock what they can't understand. Your ignorance is eparent.

Just saying the words "Black Panther" on TV invokes hysteria and panic which is all the Tea Party and the talking heads at Faux News are about anyway.
