Why these women aren't huge R&B stars is beyond me. Voices of pure gold, beautiful to look at and sparkling personality; both Heather Headley and Vivian Green are rare talents. Both of their record labels deserve a FITA (Foot in the A$$) for not promoting these ladies like the superstars they could be.
Vivian is a Philly girl who has written songs for Boyz II Men and got her big break singing back-up for Jill Scott. Heather is Trinidadian who burst onto the scene in the Broadway Musical The Lion King. She won a Tony for her starring role in Aida.

These two women are slept on indeed. Unfortunately because they refuse to conform to the norm, or should I say dumb themselves down and skank themselves up, they will always be slept on.
Who else is slept on? Chrisette Michele. I'll admit she has some buzz around her, but she deserves so much more. Besides her there are many other artists who are slept on.
Used to have this one on repeat.

I couldn't figure out if there was a place I could put a random comment so I thought I'd just leave it here. I just listened to your blog radio show and thoroughly enjoyed it. You have your hands full with your co-hosts. And you know, if you get tired of the writing gig, you could get a job on the radio or recording audio books. You have 'That' voice. Seriously.
Vivian Green is one of my favorites, loved her first CD. Heather's was nice also. Not sure what either of them are doing these days. Emotional Rollercoaster was a great song but "No Sitting By the Phone" was my favorite on her first CD, and "Mad" from her second is one I listen to when I'm going THRU IT! I often reminisce from time to time on some of my favorite artists. you should stop by my site sometime to get your music fix! :-)

I love them both! And for some reason when I think of one, I tend to think of the other. I think their albums were popular around the same time.
