Raise your Bellini up: Diamond Bill is still pimpin'

I don't care what you say about Bill Clinton and his politics. Diamond Bill does work. (no cigar puns please!) Bill rolled up on Kim Jong-Il, stared him down and said, "Let my people go." Five hours later he skated up out of North Korea with his peeps. That's big pimpin' ya'll.
LOS ANGELES (Reuters)
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton has departed North Korea with two American journalists newly released by North Korean leader Kim Jong-il after he granted
the pair a "special pardon," a spokesman for Clinton said on Tuesday.
"President Clinton has safely left North Korea with Laura Ling and Euna Lee.
They are en route to Los Angeles, where Laura and Euna will be reunited with
their families," a statement from the spokesman, Matt McKenna, said.

For more on the story, read the summary by The National Post.

Say what you will, it was a smart and savvy move by the Obama Administration sending in someone who could be rock star enough for the photo op the North Koreans wanted yet still be diplomat enough to get the job done.

Much as Bill and I haven't agreed, I will concede that this was a pimp move on Bill's part. How many people in the WORLD could've done it? That's how you know you're still the big dog.

I mean, there's nothing to say but Bill DID that.

Done and done.

Well played Mr. President.

Yeah he did it, but I am curious how many people are thinking about the way it is being portrayed? A "humanitarian effort"? No one wants to keep bringing up the fact that the women did break legitimate N. Korean law by traveling over there and crossing into the border without legal visas. Read my post at http://theapathyremedy.blogspot.com/2009/08/us-journalists-their-unjust-guest-house.html and let me know what you think.
