It starts off dismally slow and you do spend a few minutes wondering if it's all going to pull together. It does about twenty minutes in. Even though some of the bad guy motives are completely transparent, they still manage to pull off a surprise or two. My only beef with the film was that there were too many subplots that had to hold together for everything to turn out exactly as it did. You just had to kind of suspend all disbelief in the interwoven plot fabric and enjoy. I also decided to ignore the dominatrix wear they dressed the ladies in as well as the fact that Sienna Miller kept kicking ass in wobbly 4 to 5 inch heels. That and she seriously needs to eat a burger every now and then. Moving on… the special effects were spectacular and I particularly loved the gadget usage. The set-up for the sequel was well done. So overall I give it 3.5 purple pumps out of five.

Any plans to go see this film? If you have seen it, what did you think?

Did they fit in..."And knowing is half the battle- Yo Joe!"?
They did squeeze in a completely unnecessary "Yo Joe!" The movie was produced by Hasbro so do you know what to expect :-)
This is a movie made for comic book purists. And, given that the actual show hasn't aired in 20 years, there was quite a challenge to introduce volumes worth of backstory in such a condensed time line. If you were annoyed by the flashbacks and cut aways ... well, it was really there to appease the dorks. Most of those scenes were taken straight from the original story.
My wife was instantly annoyed with Sienna Miller and her cleveage-showing, ass-gripping, femdom attire. It seemed like a bad case of hater-aid, but I opted to keep that thought to myself. Besides, if you could kick that type of ass in 5-inch heels, you'd do it, too.
